How and when should I apply for ATAS clearance?
If you're an International applicant who requires ATAS clearance, you should apply for this when you receive module information from us, and at least six weeks before you intend to apply for your visa.
The ATAS application process is managed by the UK government's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and you can apply online at: academic-technology-approval.service.gov.uk
When you start your ATAS application you must select "University of Sheffield" from the drop-down menu so that your ATAS application is linked to your correct course and university.
